The Master of Science in Sustainability Management (MScSM) at the University of Toronto is a professionally oriented, full-time, 20-month master’s program uniquely positioned at the intersection of business management and natural science. We believe sustainability cannot be siloed and that the environment, social systems and governanceare deeply intertwined. As such, our curriculum is designed to integrate social science (management) and natural science (environment) perspectives through case studies, capstones, research and interactive learning. Our graduate students complete 11 core courses, 5 electives (in a management or science concentration), a pro-bono capstone project, full-year research and a 4 month paid internship placement between two academic years.
With diversity at the core of our program, we attract applicants from science, engineering, economics, social sciences and business – because sustainability challenges demand cross-disciplinary fluency. We are eager to work with prospective employers to support their recruitment and project needs. Join a vibrant cohort of changemakers and gain the knowledge, skills and real-world experience to drive sustainable transformation in the organizations and systems that need it most.
